François Lewis will not be an astronaut
The double doctoral student in engineering François Lewis will not be the next Canadian astronaut. Last week, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) unveiled the names of the 32 candidates still in the running for one of the two positions available. The project manager at Teledyne DALSA, in Bromont, was not selected at this stage of the selection. A few weeks ago, the resident of Brossard had learned that he was one of the 70 successful candidates. The father had stood out among more than 3700 candidates.
The City of Granby will finally move forward on the issue of urban hens. In a close decision, at the municipal council meeting, elected officials decided to accept the implementation of a two-year pilot project. It will be framed by several measures.
Firefighters: new employment contract in Granby
The City of Granby and its firefighters have agreed on the terms of a new employment contract. According to M105 , firefighters accepted 96% of the terms of the new collective agreement at a general meeting. The agreement will end in 2020 and the talks between the two parties lasted four years.
The elected officials of Granby accept the establishment of a new brand image under the name "Granby city playful" for more festive events. According to Granby Mayor Pascal Bonin, this project should be spread across Quebec. The City of Granby has entrusted Granby and Region's Commercial and Tourism Development Corporation with the mandate to implement this project in collaboration with the Corporation of the Public Works Department. The red giraffe, the blue gorilla, the green hippopotamus and the elephant (installed during 2018) are the permanent works created by the artists Marco de Muri and Jean-Yves Rhéaume.
