Grandson of Kansas State coach Bill Snyder dies at 22

Legendary Kansas State coach Bill Snyder has reportedly suffered a tragic loss of life within his family.

According to a report from The Mercury in Manhattan, Kan., Matthew Snyder died at the age of 22 on Wednesday. He was the son of Sean Snyder, who serves as the Kansas State associate head coach and special teams coordinator. Bill Snyder is Sean Snyder’s father.

The newspaper reports that emergency personnel responded to a medical call Wednesday afternoon to a house in Manhattan owned by Sean Snyder. Riley County police confirmed to the outlet that there had been a death.

The unit declined to give details on the nature of the death, but The Mercury’s sources indicate that it was Snyder’s grandson who passed away.

Bill Snyder, 78, recently decided that he would return for the 2018 football season. He owns a 210-110-1 record through 26 seasons with the university.
